Waiting for Care Home Inquiry

One of the surest ways of getting blocked from Nicola Sturgeon’s Twitter feed is to ask her that she and her party of half-wits may not have much luck with iced up bridges or running ferries but her new role at playing Charon ferrying Covid souls across the  river Styx from care homes in Scotland has certainly been prosperous for their Nationalist cause but can she advice what currency we must place in the mouths of the dealt departed to pay the ferryman? (Not to be confused by “Ferrier” as in super-spreader Margaret)

Voted for by 64 votes to one in favour of a Conservative motion calling for an immediate judge-led inquiry (57 abstentions during the final vote.... you can guess who they were I am sure) but of course the SNP have rejected this inquiry on the grounds that there is currently a pandemic happening (never stoped Westminster conducting the Grenfell tower inquiry) and the earliest Sturgeon proposes to do it would be in May next year (conveniently after the next Scottish elections as of course they know they are as guilty as hell and the bad press this will generate)

I would think now us the most important time to conduct this inquiry as not only is the evidence fresh but also lessons can be learned from any mistakes as not to make the same ones as this pandemic continues. Surely families who have list loved ones deserve closure in the clear understanding of what has happened and how the Scottish government has failed "some of our most vulnerable" citizens..... but instead they get Angus Robertson (a former SNP deputy leader who is trying to become an MSP and who is a close ally of Sturgeon and tipped to be THE future SNP leader) say that  “55,000 predominantly No supporting voters [were] passing away every year” suggesting elderly deaths were leading to independence ‘gain’ (the older generation were more inclined to vote against Scottish Independence)

Ms Sturgeon said the government was exploring whether a public inquiry into care home deaths could cover all four nations of the UK.... strange how Health is a devolved service in Scotland but she wants to unite with the rest of the U.K. when there could be blame handed out as to attempt to dilute her portion of it I would suggest.

Rolling up my sleeve

I read on social media and the news that many people are undecided about taking this new covid vaccine, one of the reasons I hear is “Why do we need a vaccine for an illness with a 99.5% survival rate?” Well our economy has been shut since March is one reason and another is do you actually know how many people that 0.5% is of the population and are we really willing to just write them off? You could even argue that of that 0.5% about 50% would have expired within 12months from existing fatal medical conditions but when you start playing a game of triage with human lives, no matter how many even if 1, then you start going down the road of devaluing what a life means and that’s a dangerous road to go down! The important thing to consider is that vaccines gain efficacy through mass participation. It doesn't matter if most people don't need them.

If you are deciding not to take this vaccine as you are afraid it may give you autism, implant a microchip, grow a third arm or your dick will fall off then it’s quite obvious you are a nutter and a worthy contestant for a Darwin Award but it’s not just about you so I can’t say “then that’s your look out” as due to the nature of this virus it’s selfish to have the attitude “I’m ok pal so don’t need it” but if you do have concerns about the speed to market and worries about corners cut  then taking all things into consideration you do have legitimate concerns, although I may not agree I certainly would not consider you in the same light as an antivaxxer.

.........but I for one WILL be taking the vaccine as I believe the risks of covid outweigh the risk of the vaccine (if any) ...I don’t consider myself at risk but I don’t want to be a vehicle to transmit it (although as I understand it it’s not been proven yet if the vaccine stops someone transmitting the virus to others which is all the more reason for everyone getting vaccinated) and I want the economy to start back up as soon as possible as it’s not only covid that is a risk but it delayed treatment of everyone who has a potentially life threatening illness is not receiving the treatment they should.

Normal vaccine development can take 7 to 10 years so I can understand by some people may think this COVID vaccine has been rushed but it’s nothing to do with safety. Under normal circumstances vaccine development needs negotiated funding which leads to delays, there is lots of commercial decisions and red tape and contracts to be honoured.

This COVID vaccine has been fast tracked but from what I understand the safety aspect has not been under looked, in fact perhaps safety was more scrutinised on this vaccine than any before as the eyes of the world is upon it.

This is not a cure for covid, I think covid is here to stay and also as I understand it at this point the testing has not yet confirmed how long immunity might last after getting the vaccination so they may eventually discover whether this is a vaccine which needs to be administered only once, or whether it needs to be boosted every few years, or even every few months... time will tell but I think it’s sure to say the post-covid (at least the post-vulnerable to covid) time will never be as it was before this virus. We need to be prepared for a different world but the one think that is for sure is that we can not carry on the way we are just now and that is why I will have my sleeve up, ready and waiting for the vaccine as soon as possible and would advise everyone I know to do the same.

Consider ourselves lucky in the U.K. to be in this position to have it rolled out, a lot of people in other countries (China for example) are scrambling to get injected with coronavirus vaccines that have not completed clinical trials and demand is so high that the country's scalpers are charging as much as $1,500 for an appointment!

Bonuses to Harvest Votes

The NHS do a great job and especially shine during the pandemic, as so do other essential workers such as police, fire service, prison officers... it’s quite an extensive list but let’s look at NHS staff in particular as our Scottish First Minister has announced at the SNP conference that she (well actually the U.K. tax payer) will gift NHS workers with a £500 bonus which basically adds up to about £180 million.

Now I don’t grudge anyone getting paid more for what they had to deal with but consider this .... Rishi Sunak gave Nicola Sturgeon additional funding to deal with COVID, she has withheld about a billion of this money as it’s has not recompensed the many small businesses it was ear marked for (many of these smaller businesses have since collapsed and the employees have now joined the dole queue) but instead sturgeon has decided to give public servants a bonus then asked the UK Govt not to tax it basically baiting the “Tories are selfish monsters” narrative again if the British Government do tax this money.... but as a spokesperson from HM Treasury said: "The income tax on these payments is paid to Scotland, not Westminster - and the Scottish government has the powers and funding to gross up the payment if it wishes."...but of course the Scottish government won’t as the SNP rely upon the ignorance of the electorate who don’t know this and will believe in the Westminster scare story they continuously peddle.

As I said, it’s not that I resent the hard working NHS workers benefiting from this payout but our economy is smashed, we already pay the highest rate of tax in the U.K. up here in Scotland and I do wonder what better uses the SNP could have put that £180 million (perhaps invest in cancer treatment as there will be a massive backlog once Covid starts clearing) and the much many millions more which has been passed up from Westminster to help out Scotland during the Covid pandemic which has not so far been handed out by the SNP as was intended by the U.K. government..... the one thing I am sure the money was not for and that is a blatantly hypocritical attempt to harvest votes for the coming elections next year and also to further deflect criticism from Sturgeon’s piss poor performance in Scotland over Covid

Freebies bleeding us dry

The Scottish government is now going to provide free sanitary products to woman, much trumpeted and heralded over the international media “oh what a progressive nation Scotland is” ..... well if only they were to look under the tartan veneer.

Appears every part of the body is now treated by the NHS except for teeth and eyes (is this the real meaning of “the body politics) other orifices are now being looked after my our kind and caring government, well perhaps I could recommend one for them to shove it!!

Incidentally I hear they are to be supplied to schools, colleges and universities..... considering the Scottish Governments previous failed plans to supply laptops to these said places I don’t hold out much hope but someone will certainly be creaming off the top of this plan.

A “free” product from the welfare state but actually the money comes from somewhere and this will be the generous tax payer, I have no problem for the government taking a chunk of our money to help the less well off in society but surely such money should be spent on treatments such as cancer medication some of which is not availability up here in Scotland on the NHS but still available south of the border in England. Sanitary products for woman are one of the cheapest products in the supermarkets, can’t help thinking the administration fees to implement this will cost more than the product alone, kinda like the free prescription for items such as ibuprofen which have cost (cost the NHS) over £4 in admin fees but can be bought for 60 pence in Tescos.

And now it’s soon to become law in Scotland curtesy of our justice Minister Hamza Yousaf to accept that men bleed too despite what biology has proven to the contrary, and you potentially could go to jail under the forthcoming hate-speech laws he wants to bring into force in Scotland so if a “menstruating man” wants this freebie too then you will be breaking the law to say no.

So next time the government wish to be so generous and offer something “free” perhaps they would like to consult the tax payers who actually pay for this “free” gift as perhaps we would prefer to see the money get spent of the lack of “free” medical treatment available up here in Scotland .... after all ... is Scotland we pay the highest taxes in the U.K., if it’s not baby boxes our money is getting spent on then it’s payments to Alex Salmond’s legal expenses due to the Scottish government’s ineptitude.

It appears that gradually Scottish people are put into the category of being dependant on the state for a natural function and paid for my the U.K. tax payer. Maybe one day (night), Nicola will legislate to tuck all people in so the government can guarantee a good night's sleep, I certainly feel my eyelids droop at that harpy voice of hers.

USA presidential elections

My USA election predictions from October where as follows ....

“ With the American presidential elections looming a couple of weeks away on the 3rd of November I’d thought I’d go out on a limb here and give my predictions but not necessarily my endorsements.

I believe Trump will win another term in office but if Biden does get in then I don’t believe he will serve a full term, if he does win then before his 4 years are up I believe his Vice President Kamala Harris will be taking over the reins perhaps using the 25th Amendment (which if Biden wins then the 25th Amendment will soon become a popular search in Google)

If Biden does get in expect the states to re-enter the Paris agreement and and Iran Deal to be put together again.

But, as I have said... I think, admittedly possibly wrongly, that Trump will get back i, Biden I think does seem more appealing than Clinton was 4 years ago as he does not seem as far left as her as a Democrat candidate but then the voters across the pond may realise (as I also think) that vote Biden get Harris and that could scare them off especially after all the riots and “defund the police” protests across there and not forgetting the bad taste over China than lingers on.

So in summary ... my (uneducated) prediction is Trump wins or if I’m wrong and Biden gets in then Harris will eventually be the first woman American president by the triggering of the 25th amendment within Biden’s term.

Whoever wins I just hope it’s the best man (or ultimately woman) for the job (I do also have my thoughts about this but don’t want to say) as it will have repercussions across here I’m the UK with various things that are happening here, also with Scotland”

As I paste what I previously wrote in October is social media the counting as began across the pond with Biden in the lead but still some swing states to be counted.

I will stand with what I said .... perhaps I was wrong about believing Trump will win... let’s see... I just hope the American people get who they voted for and hope for a peaceful fallout without any riots once the final counts are in.... these two hopes I doubt will come true unfortunately

Spend your Lockdown wisely

Lockdowns are hard when followed correctly, isolation dues come at a price to our health both physical and mentally ... also to the economy but should we really complain about the hardship of lockdown? Consider this ....Anne frank and 7 other people hid in a 450 sq ft attic for 761 days to stay alive.

I am sure we will be ok with our Netflix, internet and deliveroo .... feeling grateful yet?

The shocking lack of perspective this generation has is scary.

During lockdown we enter a phase of self examination and also a certain return to reality which the distractions.

When the gyms closed we missed our shot of endorphins and panicked ... yet we had the opertunity to rediscover the simple press-up, burpees and sit-up with toes tucked under the sofa.

When the pubs closed we could sit at home with a beer bought at less than half the price, what we lost of atmosphere we could gain by learning to enjoy our own company and the company of our own household.

When the restaurants closed we learnt to cook (if the interest took)

When the cinemas closed we searched for on Netflix, Sky and Amazon Prime ... and found some classics old and new which before we never had the time or inclination to watch.

We once complained about never having the time now we have plenty yet complain we are bored.

When the country went in lockdown we traveled around our little island discovering places we overlooked previously in favour for the more exotic.

We saw heros in everyday folk such as Tom Moore ... a impressive change to the shallow celebs and sports stars we usually look up to.

Our relationships were put to the litmus test so we could be more honest about their futures and act accordingly.

There has been many negatives but some positives about the imposed isolations due to lock down, if we looked inwards during these times there are many lessons we can learn from.

School dinner thieves

The Tories recently voted down a motion tabled by the Labour Party for children to continue to get free school meal (in England, a government funded deal initiated by the Tories in the first place) until Easter 2021

The plan was set about by a football player called Marcus Rashford who with a net worth of over £65 million wants to tell the government how to spend tax payers money.

Now this is the same Marcus Rashford who plays for  Manchester United and paid himself just under £5k from his multi million pound company MUCS Enterprise LTD.....

Then gave himself a £950,000 directors loan.

This means he avoids paying tax on that £950,000 and just pays tax on the £4950....so he really knows about a lot about tax avoidance ... but allow me to say this again ...he wants to tell the government how to spend tax payers money .... yes, yours and mine most of which comes from a pay packet we don’t earn from kicking a ball around a field and tax we pay without having a fancy accountant to help us find loop holes to avoid paying.

Rushford also claims has has experienced going hungry when he was a kid and that’s why he is taking this so much to heart .....

Marcus Rashford was born on 31 Oct 97 and says he speaks from experience of child poverty and he himself went hungry as a child.... let’s stop and consider this ...

Tony Blair was Prime Minister from 2 May 1997 to 2007.

Gordon Brown was PM from 2007- 2010.

So, poor Marcus was going hungry for 13 years under a Labour government so it’s a bit hypocritical that Labour want to champion his case using the “Tories are bad” narrative

Anyway ..... as you can expect since the Tories have voted this down the usual suspects are virtual signalling and baying for Tory blood accusing them of being cowardly mean tight fisted greedy bastards

.....easy and lazy to say if you ignore the facts that Conservative Government Public spending is set to exceed one trillion pounds. This is the highest in British history by far. To suggest that the Conservative Government is mean is to misunderstand the word. The generosity is on a scale unimaginable before this year.

These critics are the same people who gobshited out that the Tories would sell out the NHS when they came into power ..... but actually they pumped record amounts into the NHS this year to protect it!.... but don’t allow that to distract from a scare story.

As for the should the government start providing free meals .... well the tale of starving kids will always play on the emotions but don’t fall into the trap of being a useful idiot for shadow parties, universal credit has increased on average £1000 this year already, it’s still far from perfect but let’s concentrate on this, improving the benefits system to ensure those who need it most get it .....making for people reliant upon the state is never a good thing, there is a balance ...free school meals is a gimmicky ...maybe football players should be role models to get kids out side taking exercise in the fresh air and leave the parents to look after their own children, cloth and feed them.... if you were to point out a starving child to me and I’d happily feed him but where are these skinny wee bairns?  Living within your means may shock many parents as they may need to feed their kids instead of buying fags, iPhones and alcohol with the £1,000’s in benefits they already get but I’m not really seeing the starving kids we are hearing about in the U.K. scrambling around like urchins from a Charles Dickens novel, quite the opposite, we have the highest rate of child obesity in Europe.

I also see this on the back of this (a kinda spin off) petitions going around for people to sign for the members of Parliament’s canteen not to be subsidised  .... totally agree with this as it’s an outrage they pay less for their fish and chips than you or I so I happily sign these .... thank goodness the Tories voted no to free school dinners so this real scandal of cut price lunch for high earning MPs employed by all parties has came to light.

The Dragon Rises

If I had a terrible flu, knew it was highly contagious but turned up at the office anyway then infected everyone.

The next week everyone apart from me is off work sick, coughing and sneezing and there is me, in the office getting loads of overtime off the back of everyone I have infected!

There is the Chinese economy!!

Industrial production alone  in China leapt 6.9 per cent in September — its highest level this year and the same rate as in December before the coronavirus outbreak.... as the rest of the world’s economy withers China’s grows.

Economic figures read that china’s economy is the only one in the world that will make a full recovery from the Covid virus — growing by 2 per cent while America’s falls by 5 per cent, the eurozone by 8 per cent and Britain by 10 per cent. The chief economist of the World Bank advises China is on track to become the world’s biggest economy by 2030.

April this year I wrote the following on social media ...

“I don’t subscribe (at least not yet) to the theory that China released the Coronavirus onto the world as a biological weapon but strategically speaking if they did then it will be the biggest coup since Troy opened its gates and said “what a lovely big wooden horse”.... I have been recently reading about The Belt and Road Initiative which is a global development strategy adopted by the Chinese government in 2013 involving infrastructure development and investments in nearly 70 countries and international organizations in Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Within this program China provided loans to developing nations with mines & ports as collateral.

Now Covid19 will hinder those nations ability to repay the debt so then China will seize mines & ports globally in lieu of payment.

These mines & ports also serve as strategic military assets.  So with this is mind, it would certainly look as if when the world economy crashes China will have the most to gain and as such has won a “cold war” without a bullet being fired .... just by opening a Pandora’s box then cashing it’s chips in on a pre-played game of monopoly!

Too far fetched to believe? Perhaps ... or not”

Now that we are almost into November the only comment I would add that that above posting from April would be that if you are in a war, stumble then mis-fire a round of ammunition which then goes and kills the enemy leading to a win .... would this not be counted as a victory?

China history shows that it has never shied away from sacrificing its people for the good of its country, soon, in the not too distant future when China, the birth place of Covid, becomes THE dominant world power it will look back at these days of Covid as the game changer.

Devolution ...a horror story

Do you remember a country called Czechoslovakia? You will especially from geography classes if, like me, you were in School before 1992 as on the 31st of December The Slovak National Party (SNP ... how ironic) got its independence thus making Czechoslovakia The Czech Republic with the emergence of Independent Slovakia. Independence was obtained despite only around 37% of Slovaks and 36% of Czechs wanting it as the continuous demand of devoluted power make the Czechoslovakia state unworkable so the solution was either a viable federation or separating the country into two independent states so the split happened despite the majority not wanting it.

Think about this when the SNP in Scotland are demanding more powers under delvolution and especially how they are and in 2014 were so keen having DevoMax on the ballot papers... it would eventually make the UK unworkable and therefor, like Czechoslovakia, a choice would have to be made and most likely it would be cutting Scotland from the Union despite the majority up here not wanting it... so there is a sinister reason for the SNP demanding more powers to be devolved and the outcome has nothing to do with democracy.... but the Nationalism has never been big of democracy in the past. It was the plans for The Czech Republic and Solvakia to retain the same currency (does this sound familiar? Alex Salmond wanting the use the pound) but within a few weeks of separation Solvakia had to set up its only currency which then dropped 30% against the Czech currency the Koruna so after a bit  Solvakia started to use the Euro.

Solvakia is now the second poorest country in the Euro zone after Estonia.

If you ever had debates (more like arguments) with Nationalists one of their sound bites, which they repeat like parrots, is “no country which ever gained its independence regretted it” .... well guess what? Now you have an answer to their ignorance.   So if you, like I do, want to see Scotland continue to prosper in the Union (because you can do the sums and don’t call for the dumb propaganda of ignorance) then be wary of devolution especially DevoMax, it’s a way for them to get “independence” in democratically and by stealth.

....and I never once above mentioned how every service devolved from the UK into the hands of our inept Scottish government has declined and is failing... police, educated, NHS...etc

Attack Of The (Not So Enlightened) Brigade

I think the tide  is turning against Black Lives Matter. We all think that black lives matters as do any other lives, but we are not going to be bullied by Marxist, anti-Semites who want to turn Brits against Brits in the name of Black Power.

Once this craziness has been ousted I hope there will be some embarrassment left with those who went down on bended knee to these Marxist thugs, not a single spine amongst them but a sure as dawn follows night they will carry no shame as to do so would be an admittance of being wrong and we all know these climbers of (perceived) moral high grounds will always believe they are in the right .... by the nature of their virtue signalling this is their egotistical ideology.

But there has been nothing new here ... They scream at us that Black Lives Matter but imagine reality it was not about racial inequality in the UK,m.
They told us Extinction Rebellion was about saving our planet, it was not.
Antifa too is not about anti-fascism - it's another violent extremist movement that wants to wreck our country and make it a communist state.

Both groups, once exposed, have been revealed to hold some of the most extreme-Left views we’ve seen in this country.
These sudden fads don’t occur overnight, & they don’t spread globally as they did without influential people pushing that agenda...always question such things, try to peak behind the curtain and also remember its an election year across the pond in America.

Displays of sheer ignorance and hypocrisy always pops up and if, as I do, you often air your views on social media it’s often aimed at you.

As for BLM and the virtue signalling over slavery the whole thing drips hypocrisy!
There is plenty Slavery in 2020, that can’t be denied but let me give you an example ...Cobalt is found in every lithium-ion rechargeable battery on the planet – from smartphones to tablets to laptops to electric vehicles. Children in Congo as young as four are among those risking their lives to mine cobalt for the world’s big electronics companies.
It’s quite ironic that protestors are frantically using their phones and tablets to work out which statue of a dead man they can vent their faux outrage on, yet not giving a thought to what went into making their phones.

A recent example was just last week, someone on my Facebook, a closed group so this was one of my “friends” commented about a post of two photos I posted as attempted humour, the intent was not to lampoon Scottish Nationalism (that’s two easy and is like shooting fish in a barrel these days) but using my post as a straw man he accused me of being a “right wing quisling”

Well firstly of course after commenting about his total misrepresentation of my post I challenge the usage of the word “Quisling” which the reply comes forth with the first response returned from the accuser having done a google search ..
“quisling
/ˈkwɪzlɪŋ/
noun
a traitor who collaborates with an enemy force occupying their country”

Ok, this it the OED’s definition but people should really delve in a wee bitty deeper if they intend to use such insults ...
For example ...the phrase Quisling I always find ironic coming from someone who supports the SNP, and it is a catchphrase they enjoy to use  “far right Quisling” it refers to Vidkun Quisling ..a founder on another nationalist party called “Nasjonal Samling” (National Unity) anyway as I was saying, the SNP, they attempted to covertly make a pact with Nazi Germany during what they called “England’s war” and refused being conscripted into “England’s war” despite the evils of fascism and the other Scottish people, such as my dad going off to fight in it. Kinda loses its value when a nationalist uses Quisling as an insult... but I should drop it and put it down to ignorance about the ethno-nationalism SNP’s flirtation with fascism... even with Sinn Fein more recently they don’t want that on their narrative when they look to insult you ...don’t forget that it was the SNP’s very own Arthur Donaldson who hoped to establish a "Scottish Quisling" regime north of the Border if the Wehrmacht invaded England that popularised that name more.

Such attempted insults come not only from the Hampden wing of Scottish nationalisim (compared to the “Murrayfield wing” who are less insulting and attempt to put a balance debate across) this is not just with Scottish Nationalists this kinda political De Clérambault Syndrome where they try to stalk your posts to air what they believe to be justified points, it is with “progressive left” supporters too, they will soon attempt to use your post as a platform to stick their “self believed undeniable” points up whilst calling you right wing this and that and often attempting non-platforming you if they can despite they calls for free speech (only free if you agree with them)

Wither it’s a photo of Mel Gibson from the Braveheart movie astride a horse then a comparison photo of a skinny naked guy where glasses astride a hobbyhorse as was the scenario above (perhaps they took offence as they saw it representing how their argument was worn out over these years ... like the unicorn they once believed they rode in on is now which a Shetland pony..maybe that symbolism resonates)

Now I don’t want to stick the left all in the same boat and tar then with the same brush, to do so would be unfair, many, as I do observe  from my own Facebook friends, do sincerely only want a better world ... we just disagree how we get to the same end on the road.

A Street Named George Floyd?

Buchanan street in Glasgow is named after Andrew Buchanan who died in 1759, his money paid for a lot of the buildings in Glasgow and lifted a lot of people from poverty... but of course like a lot of rich people during this time he had (what we would consider now in out enlightenment) his “dark side” too as he was a Tobacco lord and as such he would have slaves working at his plantations.
Now it looks like the “Black Lives Matter”  Pixes we’re out last night sticking up a signage to now call the street “George Floyd Street” which is a renaming endorsed by Ivan McKee, Glasgow Provan MSP.

George Floyd was a criminal, let’s not overlook this fact, he was in jail 5 or 6 times one of which was for holding a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly as his friends ransacked her house robbing her, and he was not a reformed character as was high on drugs and (allegedly) attempted to pass off forged money at the time of his arrest, he did not deserve to die, I agree upon that, a lot of people, in fact most, don’t deserve to die but tragically he did and the cop who kneed on his neck deserves to be punished without any doubt but..... George Floyd was not a nice person under any definition and should not be held as a martyr as this cheapens real martyrs (if you want to look up at a real brave black woman just check out Rosa Parks)

There is something very sinister about wanting to rename streets because we are ashamed of the past, it’s like rewriting history and that’s never a good thing, the past is what has made the person we are, we evolve from the past, learn from it, take the good and shed the bad but never ignore it.  We know keeping slaves was terrible (ironically it was the much demonised Republicans who ended slavery in America)

Does George Floyd deserve a street named after him?...NO
Should Buchanan street remain named after Andrew Buchanan from the 18th century considering how much more enlightened we are now to the evils of slavery? In my opinion YES, it’s part of our history ... nothing to be proud of but yet we can be proud of how far we have came and how our morals have evolved for the better. We can’t rewrite history on hindsight but we can control the present with knowledge we currently have.

Why I won’t be “Taking a Knee”

The “Stand Up to Racism” organisation has organised a campaign called “Take the Knee” so show support for those protesting in the aftermath of the George Floyd death across in America. “Show support for those protesting” ...rioting, smashing windows, spray paining building and attacking people...is that who we should be showing support to? Because if such people deserve support them it reminds me of a previous “Take the Knee” campaign in Northern Ireland during the 70s and 80s .... it too was not a very peaceful protest at the time.... can you remember that... where the IRA blew the knee caps off informers and others? (and theProtestant UDF use to set about captured Catholics with claw hammers in so called “rumpus rooms”, thought I’d better mention that fact too for the sake of equality... both sides were / are as evil)

I do find it remarkable that they choose “take a knee” as their gesture of solidarity considering Floyd was kneed on the neck by the (since arrested) police officer, but then I suppose it’s like Christians wearing crucifixes (good job for fashion that Jesus was not beheaded by a Guillotine)... but anyway ....it seems as tasteful as 'taking a water gargle for Whitney Houston or wearing a necktie for Michael Hutchence or perhaps getting a shave with an open razor for ISIS beheading victims..sounds like a sick humour? Believe me... I really don’t see any humour in this!

As for Black lives Matter, black lives do matter, this should never be disputed. So do every other kind of life no matter what ethnicity...try Asian lives matter when they are getting stomped on by the police in Hong Kong ... but I never saw any protests about that.
But to deference to a cause asserting racial distinction really does feels very racist!
Deference implies intrinsic belief of a superior, and by asserting it, it perpetuates prejudiced generalisation and is racist ...ironically the very thing it claims to be the champion of!

....and this “taking the knee" is fatuous vain humility.

I mean i don’t see it as a gesture of solidarity at all, it’s like taking a quoter of responsibility... the blame...punishing the group for the crimes of the individual.
I am not racist or have committed any crime, only the guilty are guilty but this has a biblical feeling about it like revisiting sins of the father on the children is to not treat people equally on their character or merit but on their family history they have no control over or some of the darker aspects of the race they were born into .... now it’s starts be sound a wee bitty racist to me. You don’t fight racism by acting like one so why distinguish a race when all lives DO matter.

Shameful Cult & not so Canny Scots

Us in Scotland, we are termed as “The canny Scots” meaning we are supposed to be frugal, prudent (esp. with money) [a canny Scot – one who has an aversion to separating money from his pocket] (as in “He's that canny he aye pays for his round wi' empty lemonade bottles“) but how do some of my fellow “canny Scots” justify their support for Nicola Sturgeon, a one trick pony of a party which puts a desire for Scottish Independence above all else, and if said Independence was to be got the the economical downturn of this great nation would be devastating.
Thus especially applies to my fellow “canny Scots” who once in 2013/14 perched to me about the “white paper” which can since been proved about as reliable as a chocolate teapot with the facts it contained.
Basically the SNP can’t be trusted and this has been proved on and on and on yet their supporters, like a whipped dog return for more... very uncanny Scots if you were to ask me.
Let’s look at the current Beloved Leader .... Nicola ( wee Nippy) Sturgeon, especially let’s look at her in this current plague climate ....

Firstly, as she claims, Nicola has had not written briefings about the outbreak of the Corona virus in Scotland 🤔 Ehhh....but only for the months that the Freedom of Information requests were made obviously....

So who believes it is possible for someone with responsibility for the health of 5.4 million people not to have had its Health Ministry provide written briefings? ... but hey, if you do then allow me to let you into a little secret... Scotland has discovered the largest gold reserves in the world under the bones of an ancient Unicorn burial ground. Please send me your bank sort code and account number so I can forward them onto Bute house so you can share in this incredible wealth... free magic Tartan beans to the first 5 who respond.

Now last week I actually thought something impossible had happened, no, not that rock that Alex Salmond stuck up in some university garden saying will only melt in the sun with tuition fees return to Scotland, be prepared for that heatwave folks ... it’s on its way.. no, what I would to me the Scottish equivalent of the burning Bush was when Sturgeon actually looked like she was taking done responsibility
by appearing to accept that transferring hundreds of untested patients out of hospitals into care homes contributed to Scotland's huge coronavirus death toll in the institutions.
Despite the fact that she was confuses hindsight with negligence my jaw actually dropped ....was this going to be a Dickensian Scrooge-like moment? Perhaps she was visited by the Ghost of Christmas feature were Road Warriors fought over scraps of MacDonalds in an apocalyptical Independent Scotland. But my illusion was soon shattered a couple days later whist she was interviewed by Sophia Ridge of SkyNews and when asked why Scotland’s care home deaths were almost doubled that of England she said, whilst rapidly blinking which is body language of a liar, “England is not recording its care homes deaths correctly”!

I shake my head with despair at times with what comes out this woman’s month, but then I think with misplaced optimism ..never fear ... there is a regulatory body that can take action against politicians who fail us, it’s called “the electorate”  but then a remember how her family base has just increased during this pandemic (“clap for Sturgeon day”.... really ? .... are people just so dumb?) .... it’s really just a damn shame too many of them put rhetoric before facts

But when will be be held to account? When? I mean come I. Scottish journalists, now would be an excellent time to ask Sturgeon about NikeGate the scandal of sending untested patients from hospital to care homes, funds not being passed on to Scottish Business, test tracking debacle. I mean you've got to start sometime. Right? But no they are all too scared of the cult backlash. Intimidating culture within the SNP.

But if a Tory coughs without covering his mouth then it’s release the dogs of war!
Can we remember it was just last year the SNP key point during campaigning against the Conservatives was that the Tories would sell off the NHS? Do you remember these scare stories and stirring speeches in Scotland (ignoring the fact the the NHS is devolved is Scotland but that would spoil the narrative).... but guess what ......This year the Conservative government ran up one of the biggest bills in history to save the NHS from collapse

And then there is all this continuous tiresome shit about Westminster and England ...the  pernicious narrative peddled by Scottish nationalists that England colonised Scotland, and then the rest of the world — and so England must even now be resisted in Scotland — sounds suspiciously like an act of whitewashing Scottish culpability, at least to the ears of this descendant of a former colony... pish .... the SNP ...Civic Nationalist... bullshit it’s ethnic, we in Scotland have plenty blood on our hands, The “tobacco lords” of Glasgow were enriched by slavery in the Americas and Africa, if you do just a wee but research beyond watching Braveheart there is plenty facts available to prove wrong the naysayers suffering under such a false sense of righteousness... but I don’t think they will be getting teaches under the CfE during history classes in the dwindling devolved Scottish Education.

Presumed GUILTY...the online trial of Cummings

Unless you live in a cave (in which case well done you, you have embraced the lockdown and have taken isolation to a new level) you will know about Boris Johnson’s chief aide Dominic Cummings who drove 260 miles from his London home to his parents' estate in County Durham at the height of restrictions in March. His reason being he was taking his vulnerable 4 year old son to he looked after there by his family as he feared he and his wife would soon be incapacitated with the Corona virus (having worked close proximity to Boris around the time he tested positive the likelihood Cummings would have it too was very high)

So now many are screaming for the sacking of Dominic Cummings (also in effect supporting a mad Maoist intrusive regulation of personal lives, by howling for its enforcement and encourage the activities of informers and who think it right to denounce neighbours to the police but let’s overlook that part)

What I do find it fascinating that there are so many people on social media appear to be budding amateur Atticus Finches (as in To Kill a Mockingbird) or legal experts for the “Facebook” prosecution but let’s have a wee look at the facts firstly in law....

The actual Government regulations for Isolation.

Under reg. 6(1) to leave the house whenever we had a “reasonable excuse”

Now check out 6(2), in specific (d) “to provide care and assistance to a vulnerable person”  (in Cumming’s case ...his 4 year old child)

Now the law often prioritises the needs of children so let’s also have a wee look at 6(2)(j) which allows a child from separated households to travel between them.

Now let’s also seek a little clarification from the Governments public statements as It is true to note the deputy chief medical officer on 24 March was asked a question relating to small children and answered “clearly if you have adults unable to look after a small child, that is an exceptional circumstance.”

What I would certainly call an “exception circumstance”  would be two parents leaving their home with a vulnerable young child to get childcare in the likelihood of both parents being ill with the virus (which went on to hospitalise the boss of the man in question, Boris)

Now as for Moral reasons.....

Protecting one’s family is what any good parent does. and as such it is wholly appropriate under the guideline to do so so is lawful but morally if I was in the same circumstances with my child being 4 years old and with concerns for his care and health ... well firstly I would not hesitate braking any laws (in his case Cummings did not) and if any  one flicked their noses at my decision to put my child first or this there followed a orgy of online prurience my response would be “go fuck yourself”  but hey ... I’m old fashioned that way thinking that the heath of a small child is more important than what the curtain twitchers and self-appointed morality police think.

So what’s people’s faux fury at this?

Well with the Scottish nationalists it’s clear.... they will use the comparison of Nicola Sturgeon’s Chief Medical Officer who was found to have breached guidelines by nipping off to her holiday home in Fife, twice. So going to your holiday home is comparable with taking a 4 year old child to safety .... awww you caring tartan clad blue faced bunch.

Or perhaps you have the “Tory hatred fury” in you (very prominent with the above group)....a cure to this sickness would be two servings of “educate yourself”, I prescribe my blog entry “Why I will be voting Conservative 2019” from 28th November 2019

Or perhaps you are just looking for opportunity to punish Cummings for leading the campaign in 2016 that the majority of the British people supported and democratically voted for.

Personally I was a remainer and Cummings pissed me off immensely but what pisses me off now is this politically driven witch-hunt and hatred of a man’s action to do what is best in the interests of the health of his 4 year old child.

Sturgeon the Reaper

Well done Nicola Sturgeon 👏
... you have at last defined Scotland from the rest of the UK
By calculating deaths per million in Scotland from the Corona virus Scotland are close to the equivalent of England, Wales and NI combined and the third worst in Europe.
So how will you spin this one out? Oh yes, what faux outrage towards Dominic Cummings... perhaps some cries of “Toaries” and “Worstmonster” ... keep deflecting from the facts that health is devolved in Scotland and also almost half these deaths are in the care homes you punted the elderly out from hospitals to before attempting any testing during the first “official” confirmation of an outbreak (be cause you kept quiet about the initial outbreak in Edinburgh 6 days before Edinburgh was flooded with 85 thousand rugby fans)

Respect to you Nicola Sturgeon ..... you really are The Death Bringer...this is Old Testament stuff ... will we who slaughter a lamb and make a sign with YES written about our doors be spared from this plague?

A Third before a Second

Woke up the morning and read a headline in the Newspaper claiming “ Nicola Sturgeon’s refusal to rule out THIRD independence vote if she loses again exposed”

then goes on to say
“NICOLA STURGEON refused to rule out trying for a third independence referendum within a short period if she lost her planned second vote, unearthed reports reveal”

Almost choked on my cappuccino!! Froth formed expletive exploded henceforth as did the need of another blog rant.

Considering how Nicola Sturgeon is making Scotland ever more impoverished and dependent on British money its crazy to think she is preparing for another attempt to break up the UK! (this after a second vote if she fails, a second Scottish Independence referendum that has not even been authorised so this is jumping the gun a wee bit)

It does make me curious what their (SNP) white paper perspectives for a third attempt would be... a Jurassic park styled unicorn (that shit gold) ranch perhaps and money trees and export of tartan paint .... who knows?

In preparation for the 2014 independence referendum the SNP had written a plan for independence that they released in 2013 called “The White Paper” which made all sorts of claims that nowadays appear ludicrous such as that there would be a currency union with the former UK and that every Scot would be hundreds of pounds a year better off because we’d have all the oil and it could just not be comfortably sitting at over $100 a barrel.. cough cough...Even the writers/ researchers of the then prospective for Scottish independence confirmed it was lies and false promises using cherry picked horizons from past GERs reports from when once upon a time oil in the North Sea was worth more than the extraction costs. The respected Financial Times even did an article a couple of years ago saying how if the vote for Scottish Independence was won in 2014 we  (Scotland) would have since been a bankrupt nation.

Next...and certainly not a generation later the Nationalist are thumping the tartan tambourine again with their demands to split from the rest of the uk and produce another perspective to use on their Braveheart fans so in 2018 the SNP came up  “Scotland: the new case for optimism” written by the Sustainable Growth Commission... hohoho ...In some ways it was commendable in parts for its honesty.... but don’t hold your breath here it came with plenty dishonesty too...It did recognised that Scottish independence would require some difficult economic choices and that there would be a degree of austerity for the first decade or so after independence (this was its very optimistic part) yet it overlooked (more likely ignored on purpose) the austerity which the EU would apply to Scotland to reduce its deficit as an independent Nation.
Neither in its (mis)calculations will it have the new facts about the money (billions) which has recently came up from our friends down south of the border to pay for the Corona Furlough scheme which is estimated to have saved 374,000 jobs in Scotland. (Bookmark that for the next time a nationalist asks what the benefits of Union are)

There are also plenty recent food for thought about the Sturgeon SNP admission in Scotland during the Corona crisis up here (well I say “food for thought” but if intelligence was snacks for the brain many nationalist would have had hollow head starvation by now)
Scotland is more sparsely populated compared to most of Europe. We don’t have an international airport hub and we don’t get that many tourists in the Winter and Spring because of our weather. Yet in terms of Covid cases per 100,000 people Scotland is doing rather worse than England.
Also about The Nike conference in Edinburgh in February? at its very best shows incompetence or at its worst shows a cover up... By Sturgeon’s own admission (The Herald) on the 2nd of March she was aware of the Corona virus outbreak in
Edinburgh during the end of February but she kept quiet about it but all likelihood she knew before then.
On Saturday the 8th of March over 80’000 rugby fans, many from France visited Edinburgh when France played Scotland, Murrayfield stadium was full to its capacity if 65000 fans tightly packed together.
Could she cancelled the Rugby, made a public announcement so people would be aware of the risks going into Edinburgh? Of course she could have! Did she? NO! She kept quiet!

Almost half the Corona deaths in Scotland are in Care homes (compared to about a quarter in England) PPI and there was no testing for front line workers and vulnerable in these Scottish care homes!

The unarguable (unless you are a nationalist that is) fact is that an independent Scotland would have been sunk without trace with the double whammy of the Corona crisis and the collapsed oil price.
Yes voters should be thanking No voters for saving them from a financial calamity (not abusing and threatening them on social media)

Disgracefully Sturgeon continues to look at the Corona crisis through a constitutional prism to apply policies in the attempt to show Scotland as a separation country to the rest of the UK and people are dying as a result!

It’s also a disgrace that the people who vote SNP during election time seem to overlook or ignore the SNPs performance on health, education and the economy, they continue to swallow their lies and rhetoric praising them.... I shake my head at this stupidity, you sense it immediately if you try and engage in any sort of debate about the Scottish economy, their arguments soon fall flat then it’s conspiracy theories (e.g hidden oil fields and Crone reports) or just plain anglophobia.

I have said it before and I will say it again, it’s not better politicians we need, it’s a better electorate ... I dread the damage the SNP will continue to do to Scotland and God help us all if independence ever was to happen!

Out or In..a Divided Nation

We are receiving two different messages in the UK just now from the powers that be... Boris is staying those who can’t work from home should attempt to get back to work (to help keeping the economy ticking) although with certain precautions, Sturgeon, first minister in Scotland is telling everyone to stay locked up.
The rationale for the lockdown was to flatten the curve to prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed.
Given that ICUs are half empty and temporary hospitals have been mothballed due to not being used should the lockdown not be relaxed slightly? Getting some people back to work, for example those who can’t work from home such as builders and construction does make sense. It is a balancing act,  we can’t afford the economy to die as these we will have an austerity driven poverty which will cause more deaths.. a case of the cure being worst than the disease.
Of course Sturgeon has taken a wee giddy hissy fit and gives out a different message to Boris. She may talk a good game at the podium but tell us what has she really done? Doesn’t know even what the ‘r’ number is. Care Home directive sent out in error. PPI and testing for front line workers and vulnerable in Care Homes are a disgrace.
Remember Scotland has the highest drugs related deaths and lowest life expectancy in Europe, who will suffer most if the economy dies and forced austerity kicks in?
As I have said, it’s a very fine balancing act, a flare up is inevitable until we have a vaccine and we cannot stay locked down until we have a vaccine ... it could be years ...we can’t afford such an impact on the economy as with no workers no tax no money getting into the NHS so then cut backs and then the most vulnerable will suffer, cancer and heart disease does not pause because we stay at home!
So, coming back to it, the point of the lockdown was to prevent the NHS being overwhelmed. A flare up would not overwhelm it given the build up in capacity. Of course people will die, this is an unavoidable tragedy, I don’t want to sound cold but we need to look at the bigger picture and think about the lesser of two evils ... no economy no money cut backs for cancer suffers, neo natal words trauma units etc ....will Scotland stay entirely locked up whilst England goes back to work and and pays taxes so Westminster can continue to pay 75% of the self-employees wages  of up in Scotland (well paying the Scottish Government the money which apparent does not appear to be all given out to the people who need it) That will certainly create the division Sturgeon wants.
Just remember that if we (Scotland) broke from the rest of the UK in 2014 we would have been sunk without trace with the double whammy of covid19 and the collapsing oil price... don’t allow Sturgeon to play separation politics during this pandemic.
It is untenable that the Treasury pays the wages of Scots and bails out Scottish businesses while English people go to work and Scots don't. Everyone in Britain is benefiting from the Chancellor keeping us going financially. There needs to be a shared risk too.
Consider this for a moment.. (what I read written by someone else)  “English soldiers took part in D Day because a previous incarnation of Nicola Sturgeon thought it was too dangerous for Scots to take part” .... how would that go down?  We reap the benefits but don’t take the risks?  Are we really like that?
