Glasgow’s A&E goes AWOL

 Recently Glasgow has released a statement that nobody should go to their A&E unless it’s life threatening!

Do you understand the consequences of such a statement? The largest city in Scotland, centring a region of 2m people, does not have a functioning A&E service!  It now just has a scrape off the floor and revive service, a l'americaine.

The essence of this there is a faceless bureaucrat, almost certainly not qualified in emergency medicine has said this with the full blessing of the Scottish Government and a certainly SNP Health Minister called Humza Yousaf who has been a failure in every post he has held and has no qualifications to be in politics never mind in charge of Scotland’s health!

How dare anyone, especially some faceless bureacrat, tell us we can self assess if our condition is life threatening! 

And if you wait until your condition is life threatening it's quite likely you will die on the way or on the wait for an ambulance. It is reckless to delay urgent treatment! 

To think that the SNP’s war cry once were that they were going to save the NHS from Boris selling to Trump! Nice sound bites if you ignore that Scotland’s NHS is a devolved service and Boris has invested more in the NHS than any previous PM …but don’t allow facts to perforate a political narrative! 

Whatever next? When the hand cart comes around the street with cries of “bring out your dead” I will be curious what will be written in Gaelic on the side of it.
