1984 in 2021 Scotland

 Yesterday Humza’s hate bill was voted in by the Scottish government.

There is a “Puritanism” sweeping through all current public discourse and now it’s reached its zenith in Scotland which ironically was once the country of enlightenment.

Now there is less free speech in Scotland than anywhere else in Europe!

Now in Scotland if you were to say there are only two genders then you are committing a crime, by law you are no longer allowed to state a biological fact. 

Curbing free speech is the main weapon in the dictator's armoury.

Scotland as with the rest of the U.K. once championed free-speech around the globe and has been used as the yardstick of good practice by all those deprived of it... not any longer in Scotland’s case!

This is political correctness on steroids!! 

My dad fought against the Nazis in Africa and Italy to protect our freedom of speech as many did of his generation, and it was won in blood and now that’s been given away on a silver plate by some shysters in the name of “Woke political correctness” to appease religions that would drag us back into the dark ages and others who want us to ignore biology and use made up pronouns. 

In the arenas of debate and opinions you would be able to voice what you think and believe and others should have the right of criticism and have a voice to ridicule your ideas if they are ridiculous, this is how we fight racism and misogyny, we beat it down with debates and counter arguments, anyone who picks on someone’s sexuality, beliefs or race is dealt with as a fool through solid questioning of their ideas and ideology.

As Murdo Fraser said “more protections to men who dress in women’s clothes than to women themselves” so now if a man in a dress was to walk in a female changing room if you ladies were to challenge him you could very well be up for a visit from the police resulting in a possible conviction. 

I thought only SNP & Greens would vote for it but many Labour did too and Lib Dem’s. 

What a disaster for Scotland. Now a child who has an argument with their parents at the dinner table over Meghan Markle can call the police and accuse them of racism.

Genuine hate crime should be punished, but this law goes too far and attacks our fundamental right to freedom. 

Mao Zedong, Joseph Stalin, 

Nicola Sturgeon, Adolf Hitler.They all had a utopian vision. They all had a common enemy, a bourgeoisie oppressor, with Nicola that’s Tory and English elites. They all eventually oppressed freedoms of speech just as Humza’s hate crime Bill is now doing!

Not much thinking has went into this bill, we are to be scripted like wee snowflakes. The light which was once Scottish Enlightenment has now been extinguished by a Scottish Justice Minister has no legal qualifications whatsoever, never had a job outside of politics and who’s only experience of the law was being caught driving without insurance.

But this is reflective of the current Scottish government which is being run by activists. 

It will now be possible for the State to arrest anyone deemed to hold incorrect opinions which is the easiest way for an authoritarian regime to convert political rivals into political prisoners....welcome to Orwellian Scotland!
