A very enlightening read even though somewhat over padded and some chapters stretch the boundaries of the limits of us laymen
Leading British and US scientists believe it was likely that Covid accidentally leaked from a laboratory but were concerned that further debate would harm science in China, this is a fact which China has been trying to hush and many whistle blowers have disappeared!
“further debate would do unnecessary harm to science in general and science in China in particular”
We (the western world) really must be so reliant upon China for cheap shit and low price deals and who knows what?
The book covers the mystery of Covid’s origin and how unbelievable a virus normally found in horseshoe bats in caves in the far south of China or south-east Asia turned up in a city a thousand miles north (and contrary to popular believe they were not on sale at the wet market in Wuhan, nor were Pangolins and no traces of covid were every discovered there. It has effectively been ruled out of the origin of the virus so where is the origin?
China can discover water on the moon but not the origin of the most dangerous virus to hit mankind in the past century!
Viruses leaking from labs are a much more common than we would thing ( a quick Google search checking reliable sites will confirm this and not just from China)
The truth remains this: the outbreak happened in a city with the world’s largest research programme on bat-borne corona-viruses in The Wuhan Institute of Virology and deduction using the Occam's razor concept (the simplest explanation is the most likely) then the lab leak theory seems to be the best bet.
